Magento ERP Integration: Business Central Takes Flight
The Problem
Magento can handle your storefront. It was not built to run your business.
Magento is one of the most capable ecommerce platforms available for mid-market retailers. It handles complex catalogs, multiple storefronts, and sophisticated pricing rules better than most. What it does not do is run your back office. Inventory reconciliation, financial reporting, purchase order management, and multi-location fulfillment all require something Magento was not designed to be.
When Systems Don't Talk
The operational gaps are predictable.
Finance Teams Know First
Remove the layers between your team and the operational picture.
"Omnichannel improved brand consistency. It did not fix operational reality. That is an ERP problem."
— All Your Ducks
Birds of a Feather: Magento and Business Central
All Your Ducks implements Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and connects it to your Magento store so both systems operate from shared data. Orders placed on Magento flow into Business Central automatically. Inventory levels in Business Central update Magento in real time. Pricing, customer records, and fulfillment status stay aligned without manual intervention.
Magento stays your customer-facing platform. Business Central becomes the operational layer behind it, the place where inventory is owned, financials are recorded, purchasing decisions are made, and fulfillment is managed.
Magento ERP INtegration: What we Connect
| Data | Direction | Operational Result |
|---|---|---|
| Orders | Magento to Business Central | Every order placed on Magento creates a sales order in Business Central automatically. No manual entry, no batched imports, no reconciliation lag. |
| Inventory Levels | Business Central to Magento | Stock quantities in Business Central update Magento in real time. Customers see accurate availability. Oversells stop happening because both systems share the same count. |
| Product Catalog | Business Central to Magento | New items, descriptions, and catalog changes made in Business Central push to Magento. Your ERP is the system of record for product data, not a spreadsheet. |
| Pricing | Business Central to Magento | Price changes, promotions, and customer-specific pricing set in Business Central reflect on your storefront without a manual export or a delay window. |
| Fulfillment Status | Business Central to Magento | Shipment confirmations and tracking numbers flow back to Magento and to the customer automatically once posted in Business Central. |
| Customer Records | Bidirectional | New customers created through Magento are created in Business Central. Existing Business Central customer accounts, including B2B account terms, are available for Magento order flows. |
WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE IN PRACTICE
Magento's flexibility creates complexity that compounds without a proper back office behind it. Here is where Business Central resolves the operational friction mid-market retailers feel most.
Oversells happen when your inventory position lives in a system that updates on a delay. Business Central holds a real-time inventory count that Magento reflects automatically, including reservations against open orders. Customers see what is actually available before they check out.
Magento's pricing rules are powerful, but they need a reliable source of truth behind them. Business Central becomes that source. Price changes, promotional pricing, and customer-specific rates set in your ERP reach Magento without a manual step or a delay that creates a margin exposure.
Orders placed on Magento create sales orders in Business Central without manual entry. Fulfillment teams work from Business Central. Customers receive accurate confirmations from Magento. The handoff between front end and back office is automatic.
When Magento order data flows directly into Business Central, ecommerce revenue is in the ledger from the moment an order is placed. Finance reconciles against one record rather than exporting from Magento and matching it to something else. Month-end closes faster.
Magento supports multiple storefronts. Business Central manages inventory by location. The integration connects both so that each storefront reflects the inventory position of the locations fulfilling it, without a manual sync in between.
Why You Need All Your Ducks
Ecommerce revenue in the ledger, not in a spreadsheet
Inventory you can trust across every channel
A stable integration on a supported foundation
The All Your Ducks Approach to Magento Integrations
Magento's configurability means no two implementations are the same. We map your actual workflows before touching a configuration, and we set up Business Central to reflect how your business runs before connecting it to your storefront.

We document your order-to-fulfillment workflow and design the integration around it. Where data flows, in which direction, and under what conditions are defined before any build work begins.
We configure and test the integration against your Business Central environment and Magento instance before anything goes to production. Edge cases specific to your Magento setup get caught here.
We manage the production cutover and monitor data flow in both directions during the initial period to confirm orders, inventory, and pricing are behaving as expected.
As your catalog grows, your Magento configuration changes, or you add locations and channels, we keep the integration aligned. See our Support Packages.
Why Business Central setup comes first. The quality of a Magento integration depends on how well Business Central is configured. Magento's flexibility means there are more ways for an integration to behave unexpectedly if the ERP data model does not account for how the storefront is set up. We get the foundation right before connecting the two.
Why Work with All Your Ducks: What Retailers Ask Us before Getting Started
We are on Magento Open Source, not Adobe Commerce. Does that affect the integration?
The core order, inventory, and catalog data that Business Central needs to connect to is available in both Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce. Some advanced features, particularly around B2B accounts and customer-specific pricing, are native to Adobe Commerce but can be approximated in Open Source with the right configuration. We work with both and will let you know upfront if your requirements require capabilities that only Adobe Commerce supports.
How does inventory sync work if we fulfill from multiple locations?
Business Central manages inventory by location natively. The integration can be configured to surface a combined available quantity to Magento, or to fulfill from a specific location based on your rules. For retailers with complex multi-location fulfillment logic, we map that out during the workflow mapping phase and build it into the integration rather than treating it as an edge case.
We sell B2B and B2C through Magento. Can the integration handle both?
Yes. Magento handles B2B and B2C account structures, and Business Central manages customer-specific pricing, credit terms, and account history on the back end. Connected, the pricing and terms your ERP holds for wholesale accounts apply automatically when those customers place orders through Magento. We configure this based on how your customer records are structured in Business Central.
We do not have Business Central yet. Do we implement it first, or does that happen alongside the Magento integration?
Business Central implementation and the Magento integration are related but sequential. We configure Business Central and establish your core data correctly before connecting it to Magento. An integration built before the ERP foundation is stable will reflect whatever gaps exist in that foundation.
How long does implementation typically take?
Business Central implementation typically runs eight to twelve weeks depending on the complexity of your operations. The Magento integration adds four to eight weeks on top of that, with the wider range reflecting the variability in Magento configurations. More complex setups, multiple storefronts, B2B pricing tiers, and custom Magento extensions all add time. We give you a specific estimate after reviewing both your Business Central requirements and your Magento configuration.
